My new “WHAT IS THIS?” Joy Division parody tee has been a surprise hit, going from “tumblr photoshop joke” to “actual item” in just a few days. It’s been featured on Four Pins, Laughing Squid, Nerdcore, and a slew of other blogs, not to mention shout-outs from Peter Saville (the original album cover designer) and others in the design & music communities. I’m flattered, excited, and laughing. Thanks everyone! Pre-order here.

Brooklyn Zine Fest was a blast, I met a ton of people, and sold out of the first run of my latest zine, HOME-BREW #3, but rest assured there are more copies, and you can get one for yourself here. The zine also had it’s “online debut” on Thought Catalog, which was really exciting too.

Finally, I’ll be a part of RAW Brooklyn’s June showcase next month, with an installation entitled “IT’S ALL JUST PAPER.” The event is Wednesday, June 19th at 74 Wythe in Brooklyn. Tickets are $15 each and will come with a special show package from me the night of the event!

I contributed a documentary illustration to accompany Ryan O’Connell’s 26 Things You Should Know About Being A Gay Man Before You Decide To Be One, for the debut issue of Hello Mr. magazine. Over a conversation and a cup of coffee, we picked apart the nuances of his humorous article, dissected the true feelings and joked about shared experiences growing up on the internet.

“hello mr. is a magazine about men who date men. it’s the overdue response to the unending clichés that surround current gay lifestyle publications. rather than pushing agendas or perfecting appearances, it’s about relevant material for a misrepresented generation with an evolved range of interests. a chronicle of everyday life, and the narratives which define it.”

Only one copy of Dodo Magazine was produced, and it was hidden away. After an online scavenger hunt, the issue has been found and the entire issue has been made available online.

Two varieties of giveaway pencils, usually distributed at random so I never know if it’s self-promotion or not.

The Brooklyn Zine Fest is this Sunday, April 21st, 2013 from 11am-6pm at Public Assembly in Williamsburg! I’ll be sharing Table #8 with my good friend Tommy Pico (Birdsong Micropress) and we hope you’ll come visit! We’ll both have new and old work for sale and browsing, so come say hello.

In anticipation of the event, OAK NYC invited me to come hang out, try on clothes from their SS13 line, and talk a bit about my work and what I’m looking forward to this weekend.

As the weather warms up, so do I. I’ll have some new collaborative projects to talk about and share soon. In the meantime, I’m talking about a whole lot of nothing at all in a new weekly video blog series I’m calling IT’S FUCKING MONDAY.

I passed out Missed Connections postcards on some afternoon trains around my Marcy Ave home stop, asking strangers to film me. I was met with mixed results but ended up giving away or selling all of the cards and “mailing kits” (three cards, 2 stamps, and a pencil) before heading home.
